Janey Loves Platinum Awards – Exciting news The Health Kick!
Janey Loves Platinum Awards – It’s been a busy few months at The Health Kick and often we don’t realise how much we are achieving until we stop and look back, or when something happens to make us actually give ourselves a bit of a pat on the back!
Over the weekend I was in Gatwick speaking at the International Nanny Desk conference (more on that in the next blog). It was an amazing few days and I met with many amazing people working with and influencing within the early years sector. Day 1 had finished and everyone was meeting up in the bar, of course we were it was Happy hour!
I had a message from a friend – one of the nicest messages I think I have ever received!
“Ummm do you know that you WON the Janey Loves Platinum Awards? Congratulations”.
I didn’t know because in all honesty I hadn’t expected to win. The award was the Janey Loves Platinum Awards (those who listen to BBC Radio 2 will recognise Janey Lee Grace). There was an element of public voting so thank you muchly to all of you who participated but the main element was a judging panel. This was who they were: –
The thought of my book being passed around and judged was both nerve wracking and exciting, particularly as the judging panel included two people who are very influential in the field of nutrition; Dale Pinnock is thought of as something of a nutritional guru through his work as the medicinal chef, Dr Marilyn Glenville is a best-selling author & the UK’s leading expert in nutritional health for women, so to get them to read my book and for it to WIN is truly amazing.
There’s lots of awards out there but to win this one really means a lot, it’s not just people I know and people who support me who have deemed by book a worthy winner, it’s total strangers, people who are highly educated and influential.
Thank you everyone and onwards and upwards on my early years nutrition mission!
